It all began in 2012, when we were looking for a cat to become part of our family. My husband loves cats but has allergies, so we spent a great deal of time learning about different breeds and looking for the right cattery. Siberian cats and Neva Masquerades caught our attention, and we decided to give them a chance.
A year later, Tinka came into our lives. She was the reason I fell in love with this breed and first dreamed of starting my own cattery. Life circumstances put those plans on hold for a while.
We returned to Siberian cats in 2024. We already knew how my husband had reacted to our cat, and this time we were also looking for a kitten with a temperament suitable for cat-assisted therapy for our autistic son. We found a wonderful little boy whom both the children and we adored. Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly in the summer of 2025. His loss affected us deeply.
After his passing, we were very grateful to the breeder for helping us find our way to another kitten. When I first saw Kismet, I immediately knew she was the one. It was love at first sight. Her name means “fate”, and to us it felt as though it really was meant to be.
At first, Kismet was meant to be “just” a much-loved member of the family. But her arrival brought back my long-held wish to breed cats. I began learning about the necessary examinations, breeding requirements and everything involved in starting a cattery. Gradually, my decision began to take shape.
Today, we are delighted to introduce our cattery, Nordic Lights. At its beginning was Kismet Adele Nový věk CZ – the cat who brought us light, joy and the courage to fulfil a long-held dream. Her story will always be part of ours.
They are family above all. Their health, well-being and individual characters matter deeply to us.
There is so much more to a pedigree kitten than its family tree. There is time, attention and daily care that a photograph cannot show.
Let’s talk about itVeterinary check-ups, vaccinations, deworming and careful attention to development. Our focus on health begins before our kittens are born.
Human touch, play and everyday household sounds. Every day, we help our kittens discover the world and build trust.
Quality food, a safe environment and time to rest and explore. We pay attention to each kitten’s individual needs.
Our shared story does not end when a kitten leaves. We are happy to offer guidance and stay in touch as your kitten settles into your family.
Experiences, ideas and small things that can make life with a cat more enjoyable.

A new home is a big adventure for a kitten. Start with a quiet space containing a bed, water, food and a litter tray. There is no need to explore the whole home on the first day.
Let your kitten decide when to come closer. Sit nearby, speak softly and offer a game. Visitors and big introductions can wait a little.
A little piece of the familiar world helps too: a favourite blanket, a toy or food from the breeder. Every kitten has its own pace. Give it time, and curious steps will gradually turn into a feeling of home.
Has a kitten caught your eye? Or would you like to get to know us first? Write to us. We would love to tell you more about our cats and life with them.
